TRAVELLER's NOTES*: The room was beautiful and spacious. There is a
separate walk-in closet with an electronic safe,
the bathroom is huge with a bathtub, separate
glass shower and a separate room for the toilette.
So ladies bring all those bubbly bath products
that you never have time to use at home. Each
room has a TV and DVD and the hotel has a library
where you can borrow DVD movies or bring your
own favourite movie. Satellite TV had CTV, CNN,
HBO, BBC, SHOWTIME, TBS, Discovery, ESPN, MTV,
CTV Canada along with spanish, italian, french,
russian channels. As soon as we got to our room
our building concierge, Yoandra, followed.

Yoandra
was fantastic, a lovely lady, we had traveled with
another couple and she made sure our evening à
la Carte’s were always coordinated and that we
wanted for nothing in our room. If you go, take care
of these people because once they know what you want
everything is done and booked for you and little reminders
are left for your return from the beach daily, as to
where you will be dining that evening or what time
you should be at the Spa for your pedicure or massage
after breakfast. You have to do absolutely nothing
but show up. Each block has its own concierge, their
desk are located in the courtyard and they are willing
to help you with anything. Treat them well.
As it was our 10 years since we met and one afternoon
when we returned to the room and there were flower
petals everywhere and Champagne and an almond cake
were delivered. The only thing that I did not like
was the lack of face cloths and no hand towels. Ask
your concierge for more face cloths, though but the
chamber maids have to be reminded after a couple of
days.
The balcony are large on both floors, some buildings have
terrace on lower floors instead of balcony. The buildings
are very clean and well maintained, the floors are always
clean, swept and mopped. Remember maids are the highest
paid in tips and gifts in Cuba, so spread well to others
like the gardeners, pool guys, bell boys. Bartenders are
paid well and waiters are sharing tips from the pot at
the end of the day.
